As the season progresses, we continue to get a clearer picture of the impact this year’s weather has had on our crops.
Our strawberry crop has been significantly affected. The berries are much smaller than normal, yields are greatly reduced, and there simply won’t be many available this season. Because of the limited supply, we will not be able to take strawberry orders or have u – pick this year.
Unfortunately, both our cherry and peach crops are a complete loss. We will not have our own cherries or peaches available this season.
Our apple crop has experienced some losses as well, although we are still expecting a smaller harvest. At this point, our pear crop appears to be in much better shape and should provide a reasonable harvest.
We know many of our customers look forward to our fruit each year, and we feel it’s important to be honest about what this season looks like. For a farm, seeing the results of a year’s worth of work reduced so dramatically is difficult.
To help continue serving our customers, we will be bringing in produce from other local farms along with the jams, jellies, maple syrup, and other staples you’ve come to expect from us.
We appreciate your continued patronage and support as we navigate this year and the challenges we are facing. We support our families and employees through this farm and we love what we do and the community our farm reaches.
Thank you for supporting local agriculture
