Approximate number of medium size (2 ¼” – 2 ¾”) is:
1 pound: 2-3 apples 1 peck: 24-36 apples 1 bushel: 96-144 apples
A pound of fresh apples makes 3 to 4 half cup servings of applesauce. About two pounds of medium size apples are needed for a nine inch pie.
Apples ripen 5 to 10 times faster at room temperature than when refrigerated.
